...neither an ice cream or a cocktail drink as one might initially think, "floating island" was how the windtalkers from WWII referred to the Philippines, an archipelago strategically located in Southeast Asia...here I intend to think aloud and express my views, not only on people, places & events, but just about anything seen and heard from within and beyond my beloved "floating island", while attempting to find some significant human experiences out of them...

punta baluarte, batangas

moi

Punta Baluarte is one of the first resorts built in batangas...we decided to try it out for an overnite stay because we were lured by its sales pitch claiming it has a 2nd pool completely boasting of using plain, natural seawater...hmmm, for a change, a tempestuous plunge and sunbathing without sand...they actually came up with this idea because no matter what time it is, the sea level just wasn't high enough for swimmers to enjoy the real beach...you have to walk a few kilometers before you'd get to the point when the water level reaches your tummy uggh! it was like losing the appetite for swimming by the time you reach a considerable level and worse is having to walk back again to the seashore feeling so disappointed, and obviously more tired...as a result, you just enjoy the sea view while swimming at the 2nd pool...well the 'beach pool' as we called it sure was an experience but then again, what's a beach without getting sand on your feet and bums...
