...neither an ice cream or a cocktail drink as one might initially think, "floating island" was how the windtalkers from WWII referred to the Philippines, an archipelago strategically located in Southeast Asia...here I intend to think aloud and express my views, not only on people, places & events, but just about anything seen and heard from within and beyond my beloved "floating island", while attempting to find some significant human experiences out of them...

Sulu

...aka "amanpulo's little GM", an adorable 2yr old black labrador that weighs about 40 kilos, owned by the resort's GM & his wife...he is so huge but so harmless, a free creature allowed to roam around the island and intelligent enough to veer away from guest areas...he plays with anyone who catches him swimming at the beach, plays with eagles & fish when he's alone...he loves amanpulo's popular angus beef burger and just about anything he can trick employees to feed him when his owners aren't looking...he's Bibi's newfound love since he taught her how to swim...unfortunately, both had a failed honeymoon during our 6-day visit to the resort...it is so frustrating as we would have loved to have Bibi bear Sulu's lineage, a champion breed...oh well, perhaps someday they'd meet again, go forth & be able to multiply...i could only wish...

today i just learned that Sulu passed away 2 days ago...it breaks my heart to learn that he was poisoned, which quite re-affirms the common notion that people in morocco really do not like dogs...my love goes to Sulu's owners, Miguel & Mafalda, who treated him like family.
